Coming off a break of eight days in between games, The Tippy Valley Vikings hosted the Zebras of Rochester and ended up on the short side of a 6-1 score. Rochester was able to control tempo, pace of play and possession for most of the contest. The Vikings played hard, but were under constant attack from the Zebras, turning away shot after shot. The back line of Arturo Dominguez, Jacob Jones, and Jorge Rosas, played well, but Rochester proved to be a tough match-up for Tippy Valley. The Zebras broke on top with an early goal within the first four minutes of play. They added two goals prior to intermission and led 3-0 at the break.
As the second half unfolded, the Vikings played inspired and after Joel Cisneros scored, the Zebra lead was cut to 3-1. However, at that point, Rochester went back to controlling the attack and found the net three more times as the game ended 6-1.
Tippy Valley has to get up off the mat quickly. They play host to Peru, Thursday evening at 5:30.
