The girls tennis team took to the road tonight and ran into a machine named Manchester. The Squires had their way with the Vikings, handing them a 4-1 defeat to increase their first place conference lead.
The experienced seasoned conference leaders swept all three single matches.
Kelsey Eichensauer beat Mackenzie Costello 6-0, 6-1; Halle Briner defeated Hannah Parson 6-0, 6-1; and Eva Bazzoni bested Gi Gi Engstrand 6-1, 6-0. In doubles action the team of Kailin Neese and Haley Baker lost to Rebekah Pyle and Alyssa Marvel 6-2, 6-3. The lone Viking point came from the doubles team of Tiphanie Hodge and Makenna Bradley. They won a three set thriller over Anna Osborne and Halie Wempler 6-3, 4-6, 7-6. The pair now own a sparkling 11-1 season record.
On the JV side, winners included; Kennedie Brooks and Andie Schwenger and Nataly Rodriguez and Evelin Rodriguez,
The Vikings have to move past tonight, regroup and come ready to play tomorrow night as they host rival Wabash. The 6-6 Vikings have four matches left, all conference match-ups that are critically important as the season winds down.
