The Lady Vikings got back in the win column Thursday night, beating Marion 13-3. The Vikings took the lead early when Amy Baca scored on a sacrifice bunt from Kirstyn Yoder.
After matching zeros in the second inning, the Viking offense exploded for 7 runs in the 3rd putting the game out of reach. Kirsten Prater led the inning off and scored on an RBI single from Baca. That was followed by an RBI double from Brayden Baney. After Yoder reached on an error, Ally Betten drove Baney in on another single. Taylor Czichilski batted with the bases loaded following Kayle Long getting hit by a pitch. Czichilski reached on a Marion error, scoring Betten and Yoder. Long and Czichilski then came around to score on a throwing error. 4 more runs were tacked on in the 5th as Kayleena Agnew, Czichilski, Prater and Baca all crossed the plate.
Macy Kirchenstien earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete game, scattering 4 hits, allowing the two runs and walking two batters. Kirchenstien struck out seven Marion hitters during the contest.
