Athletics Wall of Fame List

The Tippecanoe Valley High School Athletic Wall of Fame is intended to preserve the history and tradition of Tippecanoe Valley High School athletics.  The Wall of Fame seeks to highlight the past in order to insure a promising future.  The recognition of past athletes, coaches, administrators, or individuals and their significant contributions will serve to provide models for future generations.

The Selection Committee will choose inductees based upon the following criteria. Each candidate must fulfill at least one requirement below.

  • All-State Selection by their state level organization
  • Academic All-State Selection
  • District/Region Level Selection
  • 12 varsity letter winner
  • State qualifier
  • IHSAA Mental Attitude Award Winner
  • A TVHS student who completed the commencement requirements of his/her graduating class prior to being nominated.

 

Coaches, Administrators, Broadcasters

Rita Price Simpson

Rita Price Simpson is a Hall of Fame Sports Broadcaster. As a symbol of gratefulness for her many years serving as “The Voice of Valley Athletics” and an ambassador for Tippecanoe Valley and the Valley Community, TVSC dedicated the newly refinished gym floor as the “Rita Price Simpson Court” on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019.

Bob DuBois

Bob DuBois was the Director of Athletics from 1975 until 1994. He oversaw 27 TRC Champions, 11 Sectional Champions, 2 Regional Champions, 1 State Runner-Up (Football), 1 State Champion (Football), and 29 All-State Players.

Duane Burkhart

Duane Burkhart was the Director of Athletics from 1994 until 2018. He oversaw 44 TRC Champions, 17 Sectional Champions, 1 Regional Champion, 1 State Runner-Up (Girls Basketball), 2 State Finals (Boys Golf, Girls Basketball), and 51 All-State Players.

Charlie Smith

Charlie Smith was the head football coach from 1974 until 1982. His record was 74-10 as a coach. He coached the Vikings to two state championships, being runner-up in 1977 and champions in 1979.

Jeff Shriver

Jeff Shriver was the head football coach from 2006 until 2013. He had 47 wins and 34 losses overall and a TRC record of 41-15 with 3 conference championships. He was also awarded the Motorola Class 3A Coach of the Year. In 2018 and 2019, Shriver coached the Unified Flag Football team. He had 15 wins and 2 losses. His team was the 2018 State Runner-Ups and the 2019 Sectional Champions.

Scott Bibler

Scott Bibler was the head football coach from 1990 until 2005, and again in 2014. His record as a coach was 99-77. He also played on the 1979 State Championship team.

Bill Patrick

Bill Patrick was the head basketball coach from 1999 until 2017. His 765 wins ranks 4th all-time in the State of Indiana. His 48 years of coaching and success earned him a spot in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
