Tuesday September 8th: Boys Tennis defeats Triton 3-2
Singles Action: 1) Payton Mills lost to John Gardner 6-2, 1-6, 3-6. 2) Dylan Neese lost to Connor Large 2-6, 0-6. 3) Owen Kirchenstein defeated Cole McKinney 7-5, 6-3. In Doubles: 1) Annakin Pettit and Ethan Hartman defeated Riby Linville and Chandler Westafer 6-3, 6-3. 2) Cooper Walls and Wyatt Reiter defeated Chase King and Damon Kuntz 6-3, 6-4.
Tuesday September 8th: Valley tops North Miami 9-1
After suffering a couple of tough luck losses, The Tippecanoe Valley Soccer Team put together their best game of the season thus far against the Warriors from North Miami. The Vikings left the field winners for the first time this year, 9-1. Caleb Petgen, John Ruiz, and Christian Ramirez all had hat tricks for the Vikings. Both teams had a slow start to the game with the first goal for Valley coming with 25 minutes left in the first half. After leading 3-0 at the break, Valley turned on the jets thanks to Petgen, Ruiz, and Ramirez. However the goals would not have mattered without the defense on the other end as Jessica Brito, Jesus Baca, David Reyes, Arturo Dominguez, Gio Arriaga, and Alexis Hernandez helped keep the Warriors at bay.
Tuesday September 8th: Lady Vikings sweep North Miami 3-0
The Lady Vikings Volleyball team picked up another conference win against North Miami on Tuesday. The Warriors proved to be no match for the Vikings as Valley won in three sets, 25-11, 25-15, and 25-9. Bree Sheetz had 10 kills along with Delaney Wagoner who had 8. Hayley Backus led the blocking stats with 3 while Delaney Wagoner contributed 1. Gigi Engstand had 28 assists for the Vikings. Brayden Baney led Valley in digs with 14 and Delaney Wagoner had 8.
Thursday September 10th: Valley loses to Triton 0-3
The Lady Vikings lost to Triton on Thursday 0-3 in set of 24-26, 23-25, 17-25. Valley kept it close in each set but could not come away with a victory. Delaney Wagoner led the Vikings with 12 kills and Bree Sheets had 9. Brayden Baney had 18 digs and Wagoner had 11. Hayley Backus had 4 blocks. GiGi Engstrand had 25 assists. Ashley Butler had an ace for the Vikings as well.
Tuesday September 8th: Valley defeats Northridge but loses to Glenn
The Lady Vikings finished 2nd in a three way match with John Glenn and Northridge. The Vikings shot 199 as a team and were led by Madelyn Weavers 44, followed by Kaydence Mellott with a 48 and Cheney Canada with her season low of 50. Molly Moriarty shot a 57 followed closely by Lily Ault with 58.
Thursday September 10th: Valley defeats North Miami but falls to Maconaquah
The Lady Vikings finished 2nd on Thursday in a conference matchup shooting a 201. The Vikings were led tonight by Kaydence Mellott with a 47, followed by Madelyn Weaver with a 49. Lily Ault and Lydia Miller shot a 50. Cheney Canada had 55 and Molly Moriarty had 60.
Saturday September 12th: Valley wins TRC title!
For the first time in 19 years the Lady Vikings are TRC champions! The Vikings shot a 382 followed by Whitko with a 384 and Maconaquah with a 385. Madelyn Weaver led the Lady Vikings with a 90 and making All-TRC. Lily Ault had a 94 and also made All-TRC. Kaydence Mellott shot a 98, Molly Moriarty had 100, and Cheney Canada shot a 110.
Tuesday September 8th: C-Team defeats Peru 54-0
The C-Team defeated Peru on the road, 54-0. The offence was lead by Cody Eastgate, passing for 3-6 for 74 yards and 2 TD’s.
Karl Parker lead the rushing with 4 carries for 80 yards and a TD, followed by Gerardo Hernandez with 5 carries for 79 yards and 2 TD’s. Nathan Parker and Dalton Alber also each had a rushing Touchdown. Receiving Core was lead by Nathan Parker with 1 reception for 38 yards and Touchdown. Landon Durkes had a reception for 25 yards and a Touchdown. The Viking defense held the Tigers to 40 total yards and causing 4 takeaways. The defense was lead by Dalton Alber with 5.5 Tackles, 2 for a loss and 1 sack with a forced fumble. Noah Prater also added 4 tackles.
Friday September 11th: Vikings shut out North Miami 60-0
The Vikings offensive line dominated the Warriors on Friday, leading the way to 445 yards of total offense while the defense held North Miami to only 90 yards of offense allowing Valley to win by a score of 60-0. 11 different players ran the ball for the Vikings and 7 different players scored a touchdown. Leading the way was Branson McBrier’s perfect night in the passing game. Branson went 6 -6 for 245 yards passing all in the first half… including 4 TD passes to 4 different receivers (Alex Craft, Rex Kirchenstien, Jacob Davis, and Wade Jones) Rushing for touchdowns on the night was Alex Craft, Gerardo Hernandez, and Johnny Gonsalez. The Vikings also intercepted North Miami 3 times on the night… highlighted by Alex Craft’s 69 yard interception for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter!
Saturday September 12th: Girls finish 6th, Boys finish 10th at Valley Invite
Boys: Matthew Howes led Valley with a 7th place finish and a time of 18:09. Chase Miller finished 33rd with a 19:45.9. Brady Rogers finished with a 20:43.6. Evan Myers ran a 21:11.3. Jace Holloway finished with a 21:18. Grayson Shriver finished with a 27:16.6.
Girls: Chesnee Miller led the Vikings with a 4th place finish with a 21:18.1. Ella Myers was 27th with a 24:15.1. Talia Holder was 33rd with a 24:52.1. Maria Henderson finished 38th with a 25:24.1. Ava Craig was 65th with a 27:36.9.
